Seasoned with salt and pepper, these skewers are not only visually appealing but also packed with fresh, bright flavors. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or a light snack, Caprese Skewers are easy to assemble and sure to impress with their simplicity and taste.

Caprese Skewers

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze (or balsamic vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients:

Wash the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. Drain the mozzarella balls if they are in liquid.

  2. Assemble Skewers:

On each skewer, thread one cherry tomato, followed by a mozzarella ball, and then a fresh basil leaf. Repeat until the skewer is filled or until you reach the desired number of skewers.

  3. Season:

Arrange the skewers on a serving platter. Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Serve:

Enjoy immediately as a fresh snack or appetizer. These skewers can also be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Tips:

  • For a tangier flavor, you can use a splash of balsamic vinegar instead of the balsamic glaze.
  • If using metal skewers, make sure they are clean and dry before using. For wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning.
